We currently have an exciting opportunity for a BEACON Methods Lead. In this position, the BEACON Methods Lead expect to be responsible for the following:
  • Lead for methodology development for the BEACON Core Monitoring System, Westinghouse’s core monitoring tool employed globally in PWRs.
  • This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and communicating new functionality and features into the software in alignment with market needs and customer requests.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or other related technical discipline
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience, but typically 10+ years
  • Experience in Incore and Excore detector types and methods used in PWRs
  • Experience in On-line incore power distribution measurement methods
  • Experience in neutronics modeling and methods
  • Knowledge of PWR plant reactivity management activities and operational support needs
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant systems and plant computer interfaces
  • Experience in core analysis, technical specifications, safety margin bases and code methodology licensing
  • Experience in methods development and ability to lead development of new technical methods
  • Experience in software design and development
  • Ability to work with the nuclear industry and software developers to develop novel solutions to improve core monitoring and operational performance
  • Ability to perform technical evaluation and provide technical support in the areas of core monitoring, operations, and licensing
  • Ability to develop and provide internal company, external customer and regulatory presentations and training

  • PWR core design and safety analysis background
  • Experience with FORTRAN, C, and LINUX graphical interface solutions
  • Working knowledge of statistical methods and method validation
