If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for a Fellow/Principal Reactor System Lead Engineer in the Westinghouse Government Services group, reporting to Joseph Halackna.
Your Day-to-Day:
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance. Clearance must be maintained without interruption.
• Perform and lead others in the design and analyses of the design of the eVinci reactor system.
• Coordinate and guide the technical leads for the subsystems of the eVinci reactor system working from conceptual design through final design.
• Provide leadership and guidance in the design and integration of the various subsystems that comprise the eVinci Reactor System. Work with system leads on the integration of the subsystems and work through emergent design issues.
• Coordinate with the Design Integration Technical lead and the Design Authority.
• Develop and lead the plans for the eVinci Reactor system from conceptual through final design. This will included assessing and implementing lessons learned and best practices within the group. Communicate with management on the progress of the design.
• Work with project managers and subsystem/component leads to develop and maintain project schedules.
• Lead complex technical projects, coordinating multi-functional teams to accomplish project objectives while meeting established schedule and budget requirements.
• Identify and define technical issues, risks and challenges, direct efforts to successful resolution.
• Bring engineering rigor to resolution of problems that are sometimes loosely- or only partially-defined, requiring knowledge and experience within given discipline.
• Expert knowledge of industry, regulatory, or NRC/DOE/AMSE codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to nuclear reactors.
• Review work of other engineers on assignments that range from basic to complex.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to and collaborate with other personnel including partners such as Los Alamos National Laboratory and Idaho National Laboratory

Minimum Requirements:

Who You Are:As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
• BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS/PhD preferred)
• Knowledge in system and component level design
• Experience as a technical lead on a major project – with aspects of design, analysis and manufacturing
• Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
• Minimum of 10 years of experience required or 8 with an advanced degree
