An A.A.S. specifically in Instrumentation Technology is a minimum educational requirement. Experience required for these positions is a minimum of two (2) years as an instrument technician in an industrial environment – five (5) or more is a significant plus. Initial hiring is for first shift, however back shift assignment in the first year of employment is likely.

Job Description as follows: The successful candidate must be able to interpret technical manuals, P&ID drawings, loop sheets drawings, and manufacturer’s internet based files to effectively to analyze, troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, process control loops (including tuning) and electronics typical to a chemical manufacturing and nuclear fabrication environment. The Instrument Tech 2 is expected to be proficient using the tools of the Instrumentation and Process Controls (I&C hereafter) craft to include skillful use of DVMs, documenting calibrators, HART communicators, computers, oscilloscopes and all other MT&E instrumentation necessary for process controls and analytical measurement systems. The Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in use is MAPCON. Work order entries, calibration entries, parts procurement and documentation of time and attendance are all kept in the CMMS. Instrument Techs are also responsible for the audio visual systems in use throughout the facility and experience in this arena is also a plus. All instrument technicians are required to effectively work both independently and as part of teams. The Instrument Tech 2 will frequently be required to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and carry loads of 25 pounds. The Instrument Tech 2 will be required to understand technical written and spoken English communications and communicate clearly by English over the handheld radios. A vision test is required and color blindness cannot be accommodated. 70E certification will be required and previous certification (documented) is a plus.



Minimum Requirements:

Associates of Science degree specifically in the field of Process Instrumentation Technology is required.
•The minimum experience as an I&C Technician in a commercial industrial manufacturing environment is three (3) years.
