We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Inventory/Logistics Supervisor in our Inventory Operations II department at our Lake Bluff, IL site. The Inventory/Logistics Supervisor should expect to be responsible for the following:

Build strong, value-adding relationships with internal customers and key interfacing organizations including Field Services, Project Management, Operations, Customer Service, Project Engineering, Product Engineering, and Finance by communicating openly and respectfully to generate dialogue.

Delegates, provides direction and motivates personnel towards a shared vision, imparting forward thinking ideas to others, effectively executing and guiding others through change.

Communicate clear roles and responsibilities, standards, expectations, structures and processes to ensure successful delivery of high-quality, error-free work.

Prioritizes based on a clear understanding of the process and work scope.

Review, validate, and or execute MRP generated requisitions to meet business and/or customer demand.

Lead development of material usage forecasts and inventory strategies to ensure that on-time delivery and inventory objectives are met. This includes developing, entering, and maintaining forecasted demand, as well as re-order points/safety stock into SAP ERP for all key products.

Work closely with purchasing to ensure material support of the production and inventory plan.

Work with inventory accounting and product engineering to review and disposition excess and obsolete inventory, as well as identify uses across the market for this inventory to minimize losses.

Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvement initiatives consistent with customer, Company, Business Unit, and site goals and objectives. Monitors costs to identify trends, including compliance to financial metrics.

Provide international logistics leadership for all import and export activities for assigned projects.

Assure international logistics service providers are meeting the service level requirements established. Implement corrective actions as necessary.

Coordinate and review planned international shipments with WEC Compliance to assure compliance with classification, licensing, document filing requirements. Resolve compliance issues as appropriate prior to export or import.

Create / coordinate import and export document filings with appropriate government and industry regulating agencies as required. Assure Westinghouse requirements for import / export documentation are identified and satisfied.

Plan, coordinate and execute special import / export shipments supporting shipment and return of Loan and return equipment, repair / replace shipments, airfreight shipments, etc.

Maintain international shipment files to meet legal and customer service requirements.

Use problem-solving and continuous improvement to spark

Lead process improvement teams and implement recommendations to optimize functional efficiency through use of SAP and/or related modules.

Ability to identify actions necessary to achieve task completion and to obtain results; ability to meet schedules, deadlines, quotas, and performance goals.

Assist in establishing and executing processes that are consistent with Company Guidelines and Business Unit Policies and Procedures, as well as Inventory and Logistics management best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline (e.g. Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Finance, Statistics, and Quantitative Business Analysis) or related field. MBA is preferred.

Must have 5 – 7 years of related experience.

International Shipping and Receiving Experience is required.

APICS/CPIM certification is preferred.

Knowledge of discrete and continuous manufacturing processes and Logistics is preferred.

Must be driven and self-motivated, as well as a quick learner.

Must have good written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills, which includes giving and receiving feedback.

Must have leadership, teamwork, organizational, and change management skills.

Must be able to exercise sound planning and decision-making skills in a multi-tasking environment.

Must be available off hours and weekends to respond via phone and email to emergent needs of the business.

Must be computer literate, and have proficiency in Microsoft Office. Must have strong knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access.

SAP or other ERP experience is required, with specific knowledge of MRP, inventory management, logistics, forecasting, and/or purchasing. Knowledge of system-based Material Master creation, Bill Of Materials creation, and Workflow is preferred.
