  • Manages and coordinates the effectiveness of monitoring and maintenance programs, routine calibrations, repairs, and engineering functions for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) 222-S Laboratory Management Project in Richland, WA.
  • Manages the maintenance planning schedule and ensures that electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, calibration, and general maintenance disciplines are coordinated to reduce downtime and that work is compliant with codes, standards, DOE directives, and contract requirements.
  • Manages inventory maintenance, chemical stabilization, and document traceability to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.
  • Develops and routinely analyzes metrics to support early identification of issues to improve service delivery.
  • Plans and executes upgrades to the 222-S Analytical Laboratory Complex and equipment to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations according to the life cycle management plan.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment for remote manipulators and laboratory equipment.
  • Provides analytical instrumentation and support equipment to ensure capability, capacity, storage, and reliability are available to support Hanford Site Cleanup Schedule.
  • Ensures accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Ensures efficient and effective conduct of operations, conduct of maintenance, and conduct of engineering.
  • Provides support equipment to ensure capability, capacity, storage, and reliability are available to support the overall Hanford Site cleanup schedules.
  • Provides a radiological protection program to perform 222-S Analytical Laboratory maintenance.
  • Responsible for testing and maintenance of life safety fire protection systems in designated facilities.
  • Works closely with the senior management, auditors, engineering, facilities, safety, quality, project management, and work planners to prioritize activities and maximize productivity.
  • Ensures adequate staffing levels for each shift in a manner which allows the effective execution of the assigned scope of work at all times. Monitors organization using feedback and continuous Human Performance improvement principles.
  • Maintains working knowledge of established project procedures relating to safety, quality, work permitting, work order systems, planning, scheduling, and preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Position will be in Richland, Washington

Minimum Requirements:

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, science, or similar degree. Equivalent technical maintenance experience will be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in an operational DOE high-hazard facility.
  • 10+ years of experience working with bargaining unit employees.
  • Experience in managing maintenance worker groups of 20+ persons.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Understanding of DOE Nuclear Facility requirements including: Authorization Basis, Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) and the O&M of safety related Structures, Systems, and Components (SSC).
  • Hot cell or hot lab operations or maintenance experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing Conduct of Operations training programs for site personnel involved in field work.
  • Experience with project work control programs, maintenance work scopes, and estimates
