We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Technical Accounting and External Reporting in our Global Accounting department. This position is at our Global Headquarters location in Cranberry Township, PA. The Manager, Technical Accounting and External Reporting will be responsible for Westinghouse’s timely and accurate financial reporting to its owner and other stakeholders. This role will also provide guidance on the proper accounting for complex and unique transactions, maintain accounting policies, and oversee the implementation of new accounting standards.

The Manager, Technical Accounting and External Reporting should also expect to be responsible for the following:
  • Oversee quarterly financial reporting, ensuring that Westinghouse meets all relevant SEC and other regulatory reporting requirements
  • Provide technical accounting consultation to Westinghouse management team, owners, and business partners as required
  • Research major technical accounting issues in accordance with company policy and relevant GAAP or IFRS requirements, ensure the appropriate documentation, analysis and review process is timely and appropriately completed
  • Oversee creation of external financial statements and accompanying footnotes
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of Westinghouse global accounting policies and control processes to ensure compliance and consistency of results in accordance with required GAAP, IFRS and SOX
  • Support Westinghouse adoption of new GAAP and IFRS standards as required via research, policy and procedure development, implementation planning and execution, system spec development and communication to constituents
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the technical accounting & external reporting team
  • Develop and deliver training to the Westinghouse Finance community and other constituents as needed regarding Westinghouse global accounting policies and processes

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar degree
• 8+ years related accounting experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• SEC reporting experience
• Experience researching and applying accounting guidance
• Ability to write effective and clear accounting whitepapers and policies
• Knowledge of accounting processes, GAAP and/or IFRS; financial statement development, including creation, format, and necessary supporting documentation
• Have the skills to participate in complex information sharing
