Your Day-to-Day:

  • Direct and coordinate the full scope of uranium recovery and recycling services operations. Leverages operations to both support Columbia Fuel operations along with maximizing potential profit from external business opportunities. Provides interface with management support groups to assure operation efforts remain with safety, quality, financial and regulatory requirements. Ensures the long-term success of the business by equipping operations with processes, systems, and behaviors to enable efficient and effective processes for uranium recovery and waste processes. Leads efforts to deliver key improvement opportunities and develops systems to sustain continuous improvement process. Act as business agent to attract and develop new revenue opportunities for the operation.
  • Working with Westinghouse commercial groups, assess viability and cost related to new and existing business opportunities related uranium recovery and waste processes. Develop business strategies to maximize operations in support of Columbia Fuel operations and external business opportunities.
  • Ensure effectiveness of operational systems; analyzing financial, production, quality control, and other operational data to ensure operational objective are achieved. This includes all customer requirements, decrease in waste backlog, mitigation of regulatory hazards, and staffing requirements considering budgetary limitations, time constraints, and customer impact.
  • Drives an organizational culture of continuous improvement through the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Act as a change agent to lead a sustainable continuous improvement organization.
  • Drives organizational performance by through effective use of metrics along with monitoring budgets and other key data needed to adjust strategies and tactics to achieve objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, engineering or operations management preferred
• MBA preferred
• Ten or more years in a discipline closely related to plant operations
• Five or more years of previous management experience required (Resources & Budgets)
• Proven track record in leading routine and transformative continuous improvement projects that add value to the business
• Extensive experience and strong understanding of manufacturing principles (preferred)
• Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
