We currently have an exciting opportunity for a NDE Engineer in our WesDyne organization with the position being located in Windsor, CT.

WesDyne International specializes in the development and application of advanced non-destructive examination inspection equipment, and services for oil/gas distribution systems, aerospace components, reactor vessel, turbine generator and related systems. In this position, a NDE Engineer will perform the following:
  • Develop NDE techniques for first of a kind ultrasound and phased array applications for aerospace, manufacturing, pipeline, and nuclear inspections.
  • Develop new NDE equipment requirements based on customer inputs for new product development for UT and phased array techniques.
  • Provide system training for customers (internal and external)
  • Support sales activities by developing cost estimates, providing equipment demonstrations, developing new concepts, and meeting with customers on new equipment as needed.
  • Develop relationships with key industry drivers and subject matter experts in multiple NDE markets in support of growth opportunities for both service work and equipment sales.
  • Identify and support business growth opportunities and present recommendations to management
  • Attend assigned conferences and trade shows to gather customer inputs and to track industry developments.
  • Develop procedures, processes, and/or methods for implementing technical requirements.
  • Perform various NDE inspections (both in house and in the field) as required in nuclear and non-nuclear applications as a level II or level III subject matter expert.
  • Maintain UT and Phased array certifications.
  • Provide interface to selected customers for initial support (delivery/use), and system training on WesDyne NDE equipment.
  • Attend assigned conferences and trade shows to gather market data, find new opportunities, and develop strategies to address market issues.
  • Identify, define, and direct approach for successful resolution of significant technical issues.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
• Skill Set required
– AS/BS physics, engineering, or materials science
– Minimum of 5 years experience in NDE background in ultrasound, phased array, and eddy current equipment/technique development as well as solution development for customer requests with automated and manual NDE inspection equipment
– Ability to travel to domestic and international (25%) customers and conferences
– Minimum of 5 years experience in NDE Equipment sales and support for automated and manual equipment. Business development experience for growing revenue in new markets.

• Nice to have
– Oil/gas and/or Manufacturing market NDE background
– ASNT or CPI certifications – Field experience
– Experience with multiple NDE equipment vendors
