Westinghouse Electric Company Nuclear Fuel, located in Columbia, South Carolina is seeking a Principal Piping Engineer. In this position, a Principal Engineer can expect to be responsible for the following:

1. Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex chemical, mechanical, or regulatory area problems. Provide direction and assume project management responsibility both inside and outside department lines.
2. Identify and recommend improvements where established technology components and methodology are inadequate. Seek new approaches to problems and new applications of existing engineering or scientific principles.
3. Evaluate the results of programs and prepare reports and recommendations based on these evaluations.
4. Prepare plans, schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements for solving major engineering or scientific tasks identified by management. Initiate, direct, and perform work required to solve these tasks.
5. Maintain technical awareness in advancements of engineering technology in process piping design
6. Good working knowledge of B31.3 ( Process Piping) and B31.1 ( Power Piping)
7. Provide technical piping support of Mechanical Integrity Program
8. Create/revise process piping specifications as required
9. Create/revise Piping & Instrumentation Drawings ( P&ID) as required
10. Support implementation of 40CFR68 for facility systems covered under regulation
11. Mentor less experienced engineers in process piping systems
12. Responsible for procedures and processes associated with B31.3 and B31.1 piping
13. Own Codes and Standards associated with facility piping systems
14. Support Plant Mechanical and Piping Integrity Programs

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:

* BS in Engineering Required; ( ME preferred)
* 8 years related engineering experience
* Experience with EPA RMP Covered Systems preferred
* Chemical Industry experience preferred
