Your Day-to-Day:

This test engineer position will be responsible for overseeing all motor testing within the Rotating Equipment Services (RES) Shop which includes but is not limited to the following:

-Provides direction for the successful completion of development test programs, and to ensure compliance to contractual test requirements through development and support of processes, plans and procedures

-Generate test plans, procedures, and work instructions from customer requirements

-Setup and configure test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation as required by the test plans

-Implement and deploy test fixtures, testing apparatus and machines.

-Control, Maintain, and provide oversight on calibration requirements for all test equipment in the shop.

-Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data results through thorough documentation processes

-Conduct and/or supervise testing by Test Technicians

-Operate a variety of computer automated and manual test equipment

-Oversee several test projects simultaneously and provide scheduling support to operations

-Write/Review test reports

-Contacting and scheduling tasks with sub-contracting facilities including Test equipment vendors.

-Sourcing, obtaining quotations, and selecting required supplies and materials to conduct tests

-Support engineering in design of test fixtures as required per customer requirements, test plan, and test standards

-Validate test methods.

-Test engineer needs to be familiar with rotating equipment, design and manufacture.

-Understand and operate Programmable Logic Controlled equipment (PLC) and data logging instruments.

-Set-up and tune 3-mode controllers.

-Have working knowledge of switch gear. Set-up various high voltage power feeds to support motor testing.

-Have working knowledge of machine vibration and balancing.


Minimum Requirements:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

-Technical Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Engineering).

-Minimum of 6-10 years of experience required. Nuclear experience preferred.

-Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of advanced Engineering principles, concepts and practices to the completion of complex assignments.
