Westinghouse Electric Company is hiring a Senior Counsel to join our team. This role can be located in France or in Belgium.
This person will be responsible for the Company’s compliance throughout the EMEA region (including France, Belgium, UK, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Spain). This person provides advice and counsel, including data protection, ethics compliance, gifts and hospitality, anti-trust, GDPR, anti-corruption, trade compliance and generally EU regulations.

We are seeking a motivated strong leader to help a company execute its business plan and remain in strict compliance with all law and regulations.

Job responsibilities
In partnership with Westinghouse leadership, Westinghouse Legal takes an active role in guiding the direction and structure of our strategic initiatives and commercial arrangements.

Accordingly, we are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with good business judgment who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative environment. In this challenging position, you will report to our Deputy General Counsel, Labor, Ethics and Compliance, located in United States, and to our Deputy General Counsel located in France (91).
You will work closely with key executives and the Global Ethics and Compliance team, advising on an array of legal compliance issues.

As a member of the Westinghouse Legal team, you will contribute to the development of overall direction, strategy and corporate decision-making processes.

You will anticipate and guard against legal risks involving the Company

Minimum Requirements:

  • Law degree and license to practice law
  • Strong leadership skills. You will be the interface between the Company in the US and all EMEA affiliates.
  • A true subject matter expert in compliance particularly in the areas of data privacy and anti-corruption with experience with an international company. 8 to 10 years of experience as a compliance counsel, preferably including in-house legal experience.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills such as the ability to communicate, negotiate and influence senior leaders, to deliver effective verbal and written communications, ability to operate and lead within complex team structures, able to analyze problems, establish facts, and make complex decisions with little to no supervision.
  • Learning and pedagogue skills
  • Able to travel throughout the EMEA region (around 1 week per month) and occasional trips to the United States.
  • Multilingual: English mandatory and another language will be appreciated
