Your Day-to-Day:

The Senior Manager, Global Tax – Tax Accounting & US Planning, will assist in managing the preparation and review of the global tax provision, US federal and state tax compliance, and US tax planning initiatives. The candidate will also assist with managing third party co-sourcing service providers for global tax provision and compliance services to the extent such service providers are engaged, and work with the EMEA and Asia Tax Directors / Finance Controllers in connection with tax accounting, compliance, and planning initiatives. Reporting to the Manager will be Tax Analysts / Senior Analysts in performing these responsibilities.
The Senior Manager, Global Tax – Tax Accounting & US Planning , is responsible for leadership and oversight across the following key activities:
Global Tax Provision
• Establishing a teaming atmosphere and positive work environment in a fast paced global public company.
• Work closely with Finance, Accounting, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to ensure real time communication and teaming.
• Development of the quarterly and annual tax provision and supporting calculations for inclusion in both SEC and US GAAP filings.
• Compiling the necessary data for tax related footnote disclosures.
• Preparation of memoranda documenting the Company’s unrecognized tax benefits, realizability of deferred tax assets, and other matters documenting management’s judgement concerning tax accounting matters.
• Establish / maintain repeatable processes and organization of tax reporting files and calculations.
• Ensuring compliance with all tax reporting requirements and SOX controls.
• Coordinating the global tax provision calculations, calendar and process with EMEA and Asia Tax Directors and in-country Finance Controllers.
• Assist in monitoring tax law changes around the world to ensure incorporation into the tax provision calculations.
• Coordinate the exchange of data with the Company’s independent auditor.
US Tax Compliance & Planning
• Manage preparation of US federal and state income tax returns, and the in-house and/or third party resources engaged for those services.
• Review of all income tax returns prior to filing.
• Assist with compiling data for tax controversy matters and examinations by U.S. and state tax authorities.
• Perform tax research and prepare technical memoranda.
• Develop standardized workpapers and processes to streamline the compliance process.
• Participate in and implement the establishment of strategic tax initiatives of US tax matters, including identification and implementation of tax accounting methods, and researching and concluding on the anticipated U.S. tax effects of contemplated transactions.
• Work with the State Tax Manager on state compliance and planning matters to optimize state income tax savings and available incentives.
• Keep the Director, Global Tax – Americas, fully informed of critical matters.
• Mentor and develop tax department staff members reporting to establish goals and objectives for their continued professional development, including developing tax technical, communication, and teaming skills. Delegate work accordingly to enhance their development.





Minimum Requirements:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Masters in Taxation a plus.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • CPA preferred.
