We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical ITAAC (Inspections, Tests, Analyses, and Acceptance Criteria) Engineer. In this position, a Senior Engineer can expect to be responsible for the following:

1. Provide engineering support to ITAAC team with respect to mechanical power plant equipment, components and piping
2. Maintain the AP1000 Unit-Specific ITAAC Databases in SPF. Enter into SPF all Open Items (OI) generated during the development of the standard plant Performance and Documentation Plan (PDP), and tracking all Open Items through closure of the item in accordance with procedure.
3. Plan, develop and deliver ITAAC Completion Packages. These demonstrate that the Inspections, Tests, and Analyses (ITA) were performed as planned and refer to the resulting documentation for the purposes of determining that the Acceptance Criteria (AC) have been met in full.
4. Interpret regulations, nuclear industry guidelines, customer and commercial requirements, and project technical documentation.
5. Interact on a daily basis with Licensing and ITAAC counterparts at corporate offices and construction sites, Westinghouse AP1000 programs and functional groups, Vogtle Licensee/Owner-Operator (Southern Nuclear), and the NRC.
6. Monitor design and license changes, non-conformances, conditions adverse to quality and associated corrective actions, and construction work packages for potential impacts on the ability to meet the AC in full (for ITAAC not yet completed) and on the conclusions that the AC have been met (for ITAAC that have been completed).
7. Develop and execute the plans for performing the Inspections, Tests, or Analyses, documenting the results, and determining if the Acceptance Criteria of an ITAAC have been met.
8. Meet project schedule commitments with minimal supervision
9. Perform work in accordance with applicable nuclear regulatory guidance documents and nuclear industry codes and standards

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with equipment procurement experience within the power industry is required; PE License is preferable but not required; 3-8 years of professional experience. Familiar with engineering procedures, mechanical standards and codes (ASME III and/or B31.1)
2. Knowledge of NEI 08-01 for supporting implementation of Title 10, Section 52.99, “Inspection during construction,” of the Code of Federal Regulations
3. Must be able to obtain Unescorted Access within the controlled construction area.
4. Understanding of the impact of other disciplines' drawings (e.g., Electrical, Civil, and Structural) on design
5. Experience with Design engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and/or operation of Commercial nuclear power plant electrical components and system is a plus.
6. Commercial nuclear plant licensing requirements (including 10 CFR 50 and 52) and regulatory compliance is a plus.
7. ITAAC are identified within the combined construction permit and operating license (COL) for a wide variety of AP1000 plant design commitments: Inspections, Tests, and Analyses (ITA) that the Licensee (or contractors on their behalf) shall perform, and the Acceptance Criteria (AC) that, if met, are necessary and sufficient to provide reasonable assurance that the facility has been constructed and will be operated in conformity with the license.
8. Nuclear requirements including regulatory requirements, work controls, commissioning testing, and scheduling processes is a plus.
9. Ability to extract design information from vendor drawings and evaluate compliance with specifications
10. Demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices at site
11. Ability to interpret and understand applicable NRC standards and regulations
