In this position, a Supplier Performance Engineer can expect to perform the following duties:
  1. Ensure that a supplier manufacturing facility has all the machines, spare parts, material, components and supplies required for operation. These goods must comply with Westinghouse’s quality and standards requirements.
  2. Supporting the project management team to interface with Supplier Quality Oversight organizations
  3. Support the development of project specific procedures and work instructions related to supplier and procurement activities
  4. Ensuring flow down of Quality and technical requirements from Westinghouse contract through to the supplier.
  5. Supporting product realization at suppliers, including:
    1. Establishing surveillance plans, as required
    2. Establishment of Witness and Hold Points in supplier Quality Plans/Follow-Up Documents
    3. Conducting oversight within Supplier Performance Engineering Scope to verify and confirm compliance to regulation and contract quality requirements
    4. Reviewing supplier documentation for compliance to the technical and quality requirements of the Purchase Order
  6. Verifying quality issues / solutions are implemented at suppliers & communicated within the project
    1. Supporting the Project Management team with developing solution path for supplier technical or quality issues
    2. Lead resolutions/improvement plans for suppliers or supplier quality issues within the project
    3. Manage stop work orders at supplier location as requested
    4. Review and approve supplier NCRs (DNs)
    5. Initiate, lead, and drive effective and timely closure of supplier Corrective Action Requests incl. SCARs
  7. Evaluate new and existing suppliers and subcontractors and support negotiation purchase agreement.
  8. Supporting Commercial Operations and Legal for Quality/technical bases of supplier claims, as required
  9. Conducting product qualification activities on supplier provided components as required. This includes first of a kind development projects as well as existing designs for new suppliers.
  10. Support implementation of Value Analysis/Value Engineering, DfA and DfM principles during the design process
  11. Perform evaluations of Suppliers and the supply base at the request of Sourcing and Supply Development to include sourcing requirements, manufacturing capability, capacity, and associated risks
  12. Create Manufacturing and Process Plan estimates for use in design option selection or validation of cost and schedule
  13. Develop new supplier to ensure the supplier sustainable production and compliance with Westinghouse’s quality and standards requirements.
Supplier performance KPI management.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese
  2. Experience interfacing with customers, suppliers and internal technical groups.
  3. Good interpersonal, project management and presentation skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues. Certified PMP is preferred
  4. Task self-driven oriented
  5. Knowledge of quality assurance standards associated with design, fabrication and construction including ANSI, ASME, AWS code.
  6. Nuclear industry experience preferable.
  7. Knowledge of and experience with manufacturing and inspection processes related to Mechanical components
  8. Application of geometric dimensioning & tolerance per ASME Y14.5
  9. Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, both domestically and internationally Experience with developing/implementing new business opportunities is beneficial
