The Shop Operations group, part of the Nuclear Parts Operations (NPO) organization based out of New Stanton, is currently seeking a Shop Technician I in the Breaker Shop Assembly and Test area.

The successful candidate must have or be able to perform the following:

  • Ability to comprehend basic mechanical and/or electrical drawings, codes, schematics, manuals, blueprints and procedures, and record data in the required form.
  • Ability/knowledge of electrical equipment, hand, and power tool usage.
  • Apply knowledge of basic electronic theory and components.
  • Ability to operate electrical/electronic test equipment.
  • Plan, lay out, assemble or fabricate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.
  • Disassemble, degrease, clean, inspect, install, repair, and assemble basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and manufactured components.
  • Exercise and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:

•High School degree or equivalent required. Associates Degree related to electrical, mechanical or machining, or equivalent preferred.
•Demonstrated skills to interpret electrical or mechanical drawings.
•0-4 years working experience with demonstrated electrical and mechanical skills required. Assembly or refurbishment experience with Class 1E and non-Class 1E low-voltage and medium-voltage circuit breakers preferred.
•4+ years prior nuclear industry experience is strongly preferred.
•IPC Certifications preferred.
•Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
•Ability to take direction and effectively perform tasks to complete the requests.
