We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Tool/Die Machinist in our Blairsville Facility.

In this position, a Tool/Die Machinist can expect to be responsible for the following:

•Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, both CNC and manual, to produce precision parts and instruments. Modify or repair mechanical instruments and gages. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
•Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
•Programs CNC mills and lathes using MasterCam, conversational or manual inputs, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
•Sets-up both CNC and manual mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, and stops, indicating vices, tramming heads.
•Loads machines by lifting stock into position manually or with overhead crane.
•Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces adhering to engineering standards.
•Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
•Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
•Maintains equipment by completing minor preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying supervisor for repairs.
•Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
•Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
•Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
•Journeyman Machinist or Tool & Die Certification
•Five (5) years tool and die machinist experience with CNC programming
•Must be available for shift work and overtime
